Holiday Blogs

If you're looking for ideas on where to take your next holiday then a quick search on the internet can offer up an useful 'Holiday Blog'. Holiday Blogs can offer great ideas on where to take your next break from work.

If you're thinking of a package holiday away, or a camping trip to the British sea side, holiday blogs offer ideas and tips which you may not always find when visiting your local travel agents. Many holiday resorts, camp sites, private villas and holiday cottages tend to be advertised on a blog these days, it's cheaper for the owner and can offer some very good returns.

The internet is growing rapidly, and with this in mind more and more people are using the net to advertise their holiday accommodation, you can often find cheaper deals by going direct than if you use a third party business or website who are likely to take a commission. The price of keeping a blog active is minimal compared to the cut a third party agent may take.

Web directories for camp sites are equally as useful as they offer a wider choice of sites than if you were to go through a yellow pages. You'll often find reviews of camp sites too.

Holiday Inspiration

A holiday blog can also inspire you with a place or holiday which you would not normally consider, and one which may not have been advertised in a travel agent.

Some people who own holiday homes both in the UK and abroad set up blogs and optimise them for the specific location to make additional revenue from holiday makers when they are not using the accommodation themselves. This means that there are some brilliant deals to be found on the world wide web.

You could try typing in the name of a holiday destination and add the term 'blog' to your search, you may just stumble across the perfect holiday retreat at a more competitive price than if you were to pick it out of a glossy travel brochure.

With camp sites and caravan sites the risk is minimal if things don't work out, but you do have to be wary of paying out for holiday accommodation especially if it is abroad when not using a reputable company. But then even travel agents and holiday firms can go bust and the frequently do leaving holiday makers out of pocket once the liquidators move in.

In all, using the internet to find blogs for a weekend break is a very rewarding exercise, one such blog which offers articles on hotels and camping related posts is Blog about Holidays.co.uk

Caravan & Camping Accessories

http://www.camping-online.co.uk/Camping and caravanning is meant to be an easy and relaxed way of taking a holiday, the trouble is we tend to miss the creature comforts of home and this is where caravan accessories and camping furniture come in handy.

Furniture for Caravans & Camping

There are plenty of accessories on the market which will make a camping or caravanning holiday more enjoyable.

Camping Tables can offer easy space to prepare food, play games on, or just a general sit around with friends and family. A camping table allows you to make the most of the space you have or in an porch or caravan awning.

Camping tables come in various shapes and sizes. Fold-up tables are quick and easy to use but they can lack the steadiness of a trestle table which is more rigid. Both trestle tables and fold-up tables offer a wipe-able surface for preparing food, eating and drinking. Camping tables are easy to store away too!

Camping chairs are also a great and essential accompaniment to camping, especially if you want to sit at a camping table. Camping chairs are useful both indoors and out, they are popular with fishermen, campers, rural sports men and women. They can be padded for additional comfort or light weight with breath-able material to prevent sweating in hot weather. Camping chairs fold away for easy travel, and some chairs come with drink holders, their lightweight materials make for easy carrying if you want to find a relaxing secluded spot to while away the hours.

There are also kitchen tables/storage and additional furniture which offers extra space and can be set up and taken down easily at the end of each day. Portable kitchen worktops can make food preparation a breeze, ever tried preparing a meal in a tent, it's not the easiest of tasks.

Caravan and Camping Accessories

Caravan accessories help campers and caravanners to enjoy an extra bit of luxury when camping. Caravan accessories fall into several categories, like electrics, caravan covers, camping furniture and camping tools.

Caravan electrics can offer holidaymakers an extra bit of home comfort like a camping fridge which will allow a wider variety of food and drink to be stored for long periods of time. Televisions can be useful when the rain is pouring and lights and torches can be essential too in winter or autumn months when it gets dark early.

You probably wont know which camping accessories you need until you're in situ and far away from a camping equipment store, this is why it's a good idea to visit your local camping equipment store or visit a good camping stockist online and spend a little time browsing the many accessories which could ultimately make your camping or caravanning trip more enjoyable.

No matter whether you love to be in a tent or in a caravan, accessories for camping and caravanning remain a vital part of making your time away pleasurable, one such store which offers a wide variety of camping accessories and furniture is Camping-Online which is based in Derbyshire.

Holgates Holiday Parks

Now every week's a holiday at top parks group Lake District lovers can for the first time enjoy year-round holidays in South Cumbria following a council decision to allow a 12-months opening season for Holgates Holiday Parks.

Planners on South Lakeland District Council this week (29 September) gave the greenlight to the award-winning business to welcome guests all year round on three of itssix parks.

Until now, Silverdale Holiday Park and Far Arnside Holiday Park - both near Arnside- were required to close for six weeks during November and December.

A third park in the family-owned group, Silver Ridge Holiday Park in Hale near Milnthorpe, was forced to close for six weeks in December and January.

Now owners of the 630 caravan holiday homes and lodges on the three parks will beable to visit any time, and Silverdale Holiday Park's 70 touring pitches will also stay open all year.

According to company managing director Michael Holgate, the council's decision will provide a valuable boost to the area's tourism economy at a traditionally leaner, time of year:

Tourist board figures, said Michael, suggest that the extra opening weeks on thethree parks will produce an additional £160,000 of visitor spending per annum:

"Almost all of this cash will be fed directly into other local businesses in SouthCumbria, from shops and cafes to restaurants and visitor attractions," he said.

"Like our company, many of these enterprises are dependent on tourism for theirsurvival, and the extra income is sure to be welcomed at a time when visitors are often thinner on the ground.

"If this also helps to put the jobs these businesses sustain on a more securefooting, or even create new work opportunities, then that will be another benefit ofthis move.

"For our part, it will allow us to convert a number of seasonal jobs into full-timepositions, meaning that fewer staff will have employment gaps during the year,"added Michael.

He said that this had been an excellent trading year for the Holgates group whichwas started by his family just over fifty years ago in Silverdale as a single site for caravans and tents.

"Holiday patterns have changed dramatically over the years, and today we are lookingat a big increase in shorter breaks spread throughout the four seasons," saidMichael.

"That's why this decision to allow twelve-months opening is entirely consistent withwhat present-day holidaymakers expect - and can now find here in Cumbria.

"The council's economic development unit have been entirely supportive of our plans, and quick to acknowledge the economic and employment benefits they will bring," hecommented.

A number of parks in the Holgates group have won awards from national and regionalbodies for the quality of their facilities, and also their environmental achievements.

Silverdale Holiday Park was named by the AA as its 2011 park of the year, beatingover 3000 other UK parks to the prestigious title.

Holgates parks have also been praised by world-famous conservationist David Bellamyfor their many different initiatives which help to protect the natural world.

Park Improvements

The holiday park and caravan park industry has changed dramatically over the past 20 years.

Long gone are the ‘Hi–de-hi’ holiday parks, although the ‘kids clubs’ and group programs are still in play, but there is so much more for children and adults to do whilst on holiday in the UK and Europe.

Many parks have upgraded by adding swimming pools, adventure play equipment, even motorised Seascooters! (This equipment is used by divers but brought into the holiday park industry and used in the swimming pools - for example: Haven Holidays own many Seascooters used in their pools.)

Play equipment can even be hired now, taking away the tiresome task of finding insurance; as an example - take a look at www.highlineadventure.co.uk.

Archery is now another form of sport offered, along with adding tennis or badminton courts and football pitches, thus keeping the industry extremely competitive.

There are large, popular improvements with the new Glamping trend, thus bringing www.logpods.com and www.factorycabins.co.uk, Yurts, Safari Tents, and Tipis to the ordinary holidaymaker.

There have also been major steps in visual improvements on the parks, such as adding flowers and bulbs in some spectacular arrangements.

Play Equipment now offers zip wires and much more virtual entertainment for the kids; for example see www.russell-play.com for the amazing Fairy Land.

So whether you have a Holiday Park, Caravan Park or Campsite you will find many products and services inside this magazine, for all your Park improvement needs.
